Roots or Paths?

The first title of Amin Maalouf’s book ‘The Beginning of Roads’ is ‘Beginnings’…
Those who have read the book know that the book is based on a story of setting out on a road to find the roots of oneself and one’s family.
In the introduction section that is engraved in my memory, he describes living connected to the past with the metaphor of trees and roots with the expression ‘we die and go away on the side of a road we did not choose’.
He completes the introduction section that impressed me greatly by describing the metaphor of ‘road’ with the sentence ‘they also have a beginning’.
When the book somehow came into my hands again, I took a look at the sections I had underlined. I asked the question in the title first to myself and then to my friends through my social media accounts. The answer?
Let’s all think about it together…
Of course, roots first remind us of family. However, these roots grow stronger every day with experiences, experiences, and things learned from life.
While I was writing these, we were actually busy deepening our roots until you read them. Every minute we have lived until this very moment has strengthened our roots.
Some of us prefer to stand still by holding on to these strong roots, while others prefer to move forward, aware of the power of these roots.
When we become a little more aware of ourselves, instead of seeing the power of the roots that are getting stronger every day as we move forward on the path we have taken, when we sometimes see them as obstacles or completely ignore them, we often seem to be on the path but end up turning in a dead end.
I realized again while reading the underlined lines that this is the point that made me love the coaching perspective and lifestyle the most.
Every person's roots are different. Just like even trees of the same species have different roots. The paths that each person takes or wants to take with the power they get from their roots are also different.
Coaching is a process that allows us to see the power we sometimes get from our roots that we cannot see.
The only condition is to decide which path to take...
I wish that the paths you take will be clear by being aware of your roots and the power they bring...
